Before you hire us

Straight answers to the questions clients actually ask.

01

Engagement & process

How we start, what the first weeks look like, and how the engagement is structured.

Every engagement starts with a diagnostic, not a campaign. We audit your current acquisition path, ad spend, landing page CVR, follow-up timing, lead-to-close ratio, and identify the 2–3 gaps actually costing you clients. Most businesses have them in the same three places. We find yours in week one, before anyone touches your ad budget.

From there, the path depends on the problem. We map the most logical sequence of fixes and tools for your situation, starting with the diagnosis and working outward to which services are actually useful at your stage. A pre-launch brand and a five-year-old service business need different things. We tell you which of ours apply, and which you don't need yet.
Every contract we sign starts with the first three months. That window is how we get to know each other, see how we work together, and confirm the fit on both sides.

Month 1: Audit, ICP definition, tracking and CRM setup, funnel and landing page, campaign launch.
Month 2: Active testing, structured A/B experiments, real data collection, follow-up optimisation.
Month 3: Cut what doesn't convert, scale what does, confirm the model. By the end of month 3 you know your CPL, CAC, and what to do with more budget.

Three months with a real budget is enough to move a business meaningfully through digital. By the end you have a result you can build on, edit, and roll into the next strategy phase.
A system takes 90 days to validate honestly. The minimum is three months for one simple reason: that's how long it takes to understand your business and build it properly. Month 1 we build the infrastructure. Months 2 and 3 we watch how it actually performs and optimise it. Anyone promising results in 30 days is either running on vanity metrics or selling a lottery ticket. We won't do either.
We're built on honesty, transparency, and results you can actually see. Three months is the minimum engagement we sign because that's how long the data takes, and the only window where we can predict, measure, and show real outcomes. After that, the retainer continues month to month. Most clients extend, not because they're locked in, but because the system is working.

If your situation calls for a longer or more structured plan from day one, we're happy to put one together as part of your individual strategy. See the case studies for typical engagement timelines.
Depending on your situation, we run either weekly or bi-weekly calls. We treat these as non-negotiable, that's how we keep communication tight and the marketing team coordinated with yours. Outside of calls, we stay reachable through shared channels and chats (Slack, email, or whatever you already use), so questions get answered without waiting for the next meeting.

On top of that: weekly async updates (Loom / Slack / email depending on your preference) and a monthly 45-minute review where we walk through the numbers, what shipped, what scaled, what got cut. If something breaks mid-month, a lead volume drop, a CPL spike, a tracking issue, you hear about it the same day, not in the monthly report.
Every engagement has one dedicated lead who owns your account from start to finish. Depending on the scope, that's Valeriia (strategy, audit, systems), Emiliia (performance, paid, creative), or another senior team member. You won't be handed off to a junior after onboarding, and you won't be rotated between people mid-project.

Behind that one point of contact, we pull in the right specialists as the work needs them: video, development, ads operations, photography. You don't have to brief them, manage them, or chase them. That sits with us.
Yes. After the 3-month minimum, you cancel with 30 days' notice. If a channel isn't profitable, we'll tell you to cut it before you do. We optimise for your unit economics, not our retainer, which means we'd rather you leave happy and refer us than stay unhappy and leave anyway.
Typical onboarding is 5–10 business days from signed proposal to kickoff. If the audit reveals that your business model or offer needs adjustment before marketing can help, we'll tell you that first, and we'll refer you out if you need a specialist we're not. A marketing system on a broken business model just fails faster.
02

Pricing & scope

What it costs, what's included, and how scope is defined.

Three engagement models, all priced in CAD:

Strategy Session, $399: a one-off 90-minute breakdown of your marketing with a written action plan inside 24 hours. Credited toward your first month if you continue with us.

Standalone services start at $800/month for SMM Presence, $900 for a base website (up to 5 pages), and $1,250 per platform plus 10% of ad spend for Paid Ads management. SMM Growth is $1,800/month and SMM Scale is $2,900/month.

Marketing Partnership runs $1,500 / $2,500 / $3,500+ per month for Starter, Growth, and Scale, covering up to 20 / 40 / 60+ hours respectively. Scale is priced individually based on scope and can run as a full-time embedded marketing function inside your team.

Ad spend is always separate and goes directly to Meta, Google, TikTok, or LinkedIn on your own accounts. Project-based work like brand builds and catalogues is quoted on top.

For the full breakdown by service, see the pricing page →
No. Ad spend is always separate and goes directly to Meta, Google, TikTok, or LinkedIn, on your own ad accounts that you own. We manage the spend but never mark it up or invoice you for it. This keeps incentives aligned and accounting clean.
No. Performance-only pricing forces agencies to optimise for short-term wins that inflate metrics and ignore the system underneath. We charge a fixed retainer and a separate project fee where applicable, so we can recommend cutting a channel the moment the math stops working, instead of keeping it alive to hit a commission.
Setup fees exist only for defined foundation builds, a new website, full rebrand, B2B catalogue, CRM buildout. Those are scoped and quoted upfront with a fixed price. Anything beyond the agreed retainer and project fee is priced in writing before work starts. No surprise invoices.

What we do

Services we actually deliver, and the ones we refuse to sell as standalone boxes.

Three tracks, one connected system:

Track 01 · Brand & Presence: brand system and positioning, website, social media, Google Business Profile, print and collateral.
Track 02 · Acquisition: content production and photoshoots, paid acquisition (Meta & Google), LinkedIn Ads, funnel architecture and landing pages, launch strategy and coordination.
Track 03 · Optimization: CRM and automated follow-up, email and SMS marketing, tracking and revenue attribution, growth strategy and channel validation, AI-assisted optimization and ad creative.

Most engagements need more than one track, in sequence: brand and presence first when the foundation is missing, acquisition once the site can carry traffic, optimization once there's enough data to act on.

For the full breakdown of each service, see our services page →
Yes, conversion-focused websites, not portfolio decoration. Built on Shopify, Webflow, WordPress, or custom depending on what the business needs. Pages are structured around buyer intent, load speed, and tracking from day one. Live examples in the case studies.
Yes to all four, but we pick the platform based on where your buyers actually spend time and where the math works, not where we prefer to work. We typically start with one channel to validate the model, then add the second once CPL is confirmed. Multi-platform engagements assign a different job to each channel (discovery, credibility, authority, infrastructure, local trust) rather than cross-posting the same content everywhere.
Yes. Full brand systems, logo, visual language, tone of voice, brand guidelines, asset libraries, priced as project work. Scope ranges from a single-logo launch to full rebrand from zero online to consumer-facing refreshes.
Technical SEO, local SEO, and on-page SEO as part of foundation builds, yes. Standalone "we'll rank you" SEO retainers, no. The organic content we create (articles, landing pages, Google Business Profile optimisation) is built to rank for the specific searches your buyers run, not for vanity keywords.
Yes, across formats and platforms: short-form video (TikTok, Reels, Shorts), photo production, carousel creative, long-form video where it fits. Copy for every surface, ads, landing pages, emails, LinkedIn.

On the production side, we close the gap either way. If you already have an in-house team or a production studio you trust, we work with them directly, write the briefs, and align them with the broader strategy. If you don't, we run it ourselves with our trusted creative partners. Either model works for us, and we're flexible about how it's structured per project.
04

Fit & industries

Who we work with, who we don't, and how to tell before the first call.

Two kinds of clients: businesses ready to build, and businesses ready to scale. In practice, that breaks into a few core profiles:

Product brands & B2B producers — artisan producers, specialty food, wellness products, B2B suppliers into hospitality and retail.
Professional service firms — law, accounting, financial advisory, consulting, insurance, medical and dental clinics.
Construction & trades — renovation, HVAC, roofing, plumbing, landscaping, property management.
E-commerce & consumer brands — DTC product brands ready to scale beyond "we sell online".
Health, beauty & wellness — clinics, medispas, physiotherapy, dental, wellness studios.
Immigrant & newcomer founders — building in a second language, in a market they're still learning.

Across all of them, the pattern is the same: validated product or service, a real budget for launch or acquisition, open to fixing the foundation first, ready to make strategic decisions, working on a 90-day horizon instead of a 30-day one.

For the full breakdown of who fits which track, see Who this is for →
No. We're based in Calgary and work with clients across Canada and internationally, everything runs remotely with async updates and monthly video calls. If you're local, in-person sessions are available at our Shedpoint Coworking workspace by appointment.
We won't promise help upfront. The honest answer depends on how clearly you understand what you're selling and to whom. Marketing amplifies what already works, it doesn't fix product-market fit.

What we can offer is a paid consultation where we go through your situation properly, your offer, your audience, where you are right now, and decide together whether what we do is the right next step. If we conclude after that call that we're a fit and start working together, we credit the consultation fee back to you.

What sets us apart is that we focus on the actual problem first, then explain exactly what we're going to do over the next three months. You don't get a list of services, you get a clear plan we report against every step of the way. That's the part most agencies skip.

We'd also be genuinely grateful if you shared what didn't work with your previous agency and why you left. That feedback shapes how we build engagements, and helps us avoid repeating the same mistakes for you.
05

Tools & ownership

What you own, what we use, and what happens if we stop working together.

We don't install CRM systems ourselves, but we help you choose the right one for your business and support you in working with our implementation partners through setup.

Most CRMs are structured the same way at their core: client management, lead and email handling, sales pipeline. The differences are in fit, pricing, and what your team is actually willing to use day to day. We understand the structure from the inside and we're comfortable shaping custom solutions around it, whether you're on GoHighLevel, HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Monday, or something else entirely.

What we do impose, regardless of platform, is clean tracking.
You do. All ad accounts are created under your business. Website is hosted on your account. Creative assets, brand files, and production masters are handed over as part of the engagement. If we stop working together, you keep everything, working, documented, and transferable to another team.
The system is built to be handoff-ready from day one. Ad accounts, tracking, CRM, automation flows, creative libraries, brand files, documentation, all yours, all documented. We do a formal handover session with whoever takes over (internal team or new agency). No hostage tactics.
No. All client data, ad performance, lead lists, revenue numbers, stays with the client. Case studies are published only with explicit written approval and typically with a delay to protect ongoing competitive advantage. See our privacy policy for the full detail.
06

Results & reporting

What we measure, what we refuse to measure, and what you can expect.

No. Anyone guaranteeing X leads or Y% ROAS before seeing your business is either lying or bidding to lose money. What we guarantee is the process, audit before spend, 90-day validation window, transparent tracking, and the honesty to cut channels that aren't working. That discipline is what produces results.
The report is one page, and what's on it depends on the goal you came to us for. Impressions and follower counts aren't in there. We track what actually ties to the outcome we agreed on: for most clients that's revenue math, for others it's what shipped and how it holds up in front of a buyer.

When the goal is acquisition, that means CAC (customer acquisition cost), CPL (cost per lead), CVR (conversion rate at every funnel stage), LTV (lifetime value), ROAS (return on ad spend), AOV (average order value), MRR from marketing, and CAC payback period. When the goal is reach or awareness, those become the metrics instead. Either way, if a number doesn't connect to your business goal, it doesn't get tracked.

For the full breakdown of each metric and why it matters, see How results are measured →
You stay in the loop two ways: we're always reachable, and you have direct access to your client portal.

We've built a custom client portal that holds everything in one place: the current strategy, execution timelines, deliverables, and the numbers that matter for your goal. You can leave comments directly on anything inside it, so feedback doesn't get lost in email threads. Then we walk through it together on our regular calls.

On top of that, if CPL doubles, CVR drops, or a creative burns out mid-month, you hear about it the same day, not on page 14 of the month-end deck.
07

Team & credentials

Who runs Syntri Labs, what we've done, and why that matters for your engagement.

Strategic ownership stays with the Syntri Labs team. Audit, strategy, campaign direction, reporting, and the relationship with you sit with your dedicated account lead from start to finish.

Production work (video, photography, development, localised creative) is handled through a vetted network of trusted creative partners. We brief them, coordinate them, and review every deliverable before it reaches you, so you stay with one point of contact instead of managing a vendor list.
08

Common concerns

The harder questions clients ask after they've been burned before.

We tell you, immediately. If your offer is unclear, your close rate is under 10%, or your operations break at scale, marketing amplifies the problem, not solves it. In those cases we either scope a short-term fix first, refer you out to a better-fit specialist, or delay the engagement until the foundation is there. A marketing system on a broken business model just fails faster.
We tell you the same week. If a channel stops bringing results — costs jump, sales drop — we look at why, try to fix it, and give it a short window to recover. If it doesn't, we stop spending there and move the budget to what's actually working. You're in the loop on every step.

We don't keep weak campaigns running just to fill a monthly invoice. That's a hard rule.
That's the most common starting point, not a deal-breaker. A fragmented setup, random channels, no tracking, past agencies that delivered reports but not results, gives the audit a clear picture of what's broken and where the opportunity sits. Start with the free Marketing Audit. It takes 10 minutes and shows you exactly where to focus first.
No. Ad spend recommendations are tied to unit economics, not agency revenue. We optimise for your CAC, not our retainer. If the math says $1,000/month is the right ceiling until the funnel improves, that's what we recommend. Budget size and growth rate are levers, they're not tied to each other the way most agencies pretend they are.
No, unless they directly tie to revenue for your specific business. Those numbers feel good and sign retainer renewals; they don't pay bills. Our reports have four to eight numbers depending on your goal, and every one of them connects to dollars in or dollars saved.
The entire engagement is designed around telling you things most agencies won't. Stop running ads if your funnel is broken. Refer out if marketing isn't your real problem. Cut the channel you're emotionally attached to if the math doesn't work. Clients who want a yes-agency aren't the right fit. Clients who want a straight operator usually become long-term partners.
