Social Media Marketing for Construction, Renovation & Home Service Companies
Bringing in new customers is not the primary job of social media in this industry.
The primary job is what happens to the demand you already have: how many of your
quotes convert into signed work, whether you hold your price, what your paid
traffic costs, and how quickly you fill a crew.

The mechanism
The decision does not start in a feed
Demand in this category is event driven. A pipe fails, a house changes hands, a room
stops working, a property is being prepared for sale. That demand goes to search, to
referral, to whoever the neighbour used last year. It does not originate in a feed,
and no volume of posting changes that. What happens next is the part that usually goes
unmeasured. Between getting your name and calling you, the buyer verifies you. Your
page is where that verification happens.
The page sits between the referral and the call. It does not create the enquiry. It determines whether the enquiry reaches you.
A quote is not evaluated on price alone. When two numbers are close, the company that reads as organised gets the work. That is a buyer reducing risk on a five or six figure decision.
What they check is specific. Finish detail. Whether the crew looks like people they would let into the house. Whether the last twelve months show a company that is operating, or an account that stopped in March.
An inactive page is not neutral. It reads as small, possibly gone, and therefore risky.
The useful question is not how many followers the account gains. It is what a buyer
finds at the point of verification, and what it costs you when they find nothing.
What moves
Four things change, and followers is not one of them
This is what the work is actually being hired to do. Everything further down this page
serves one of these four.
01
Quote to contract
You are already quoting work, and a share of those quotes goes cold with no reason given. A page that shows finished work, real crews and recent activity removes the doubt that ends a quote quietly. This is the largest number in the business and the cheapest one to move, because the demand is already there.
02
Price position
Companies that read as established are compared on value. Companies that read as uncertain are compared on price, because price is the only thing left to compare them on.
03
Cost of paid acquisition
Paid social in home services runs on before and after material. It is the strongest creative format in the category and it cannot be bought, only shot on your own jobs. Without a content library, paid traffic runs on stock or does not run. The same shoot feeds both the feed and the ad account.
04
Hiring
Trades are constrained everywhere in Canada. Crews check the same page homeowners do and ask a version of the same question. A company that looks like it runs proper jobs fills a position faster and negotiates less.
None of this follows from posting. It follows from the content being proof, which is what
all four of these run on.
Where this works
Enteco Construction and Development
Enteco is the clearest version of the pattern above. Twenty five years of residential
and commercial painting and renovation in Calgary. The work was never the problem.
The problem was that none of it existed at the point where a buyer was verifying them.
178 followers. Posts sitting between 225 and 437 views. A bio that stated neither the
service nor the city. Someone checking them mid decision found no answer in either
direction, which at a five figure quote functions as a no.
Verification takes three seconds. Service and city in the first line, a mark that does not read as fifteen years old, one clear next action. Most people who look you up never scroll past the top of the profile. What is not answered there is not answered.
BeforeDated logo, a bio that didn't say what they do, mismatched highlight covers.AfterNew mark, service and city in the first line, one clear next step.
02 Built one visual system for the feed
Inconsistency reads as improvisation. A feed where every post looks different does not read as creative. To someone about to hand over a build it reads as work that comes out however it comes out. One system reads as process, and process is what is being bought.
BeforePosts sat between 225 and 437 views. No repeatable look, no clear order.AfterOne visual system, one voice. Topics a Calgary homeowner actually searches for.
What changed
178 → 303followers on Instagram
+70%follower growth over the engagement
6.6Korganic views on the best-performing reel
86 → 114posts published on the account
The number that matters more than the number: 303 followers in Calgary is worth more than 30,000 anywhere else. These are people inside the service radius at the point of decision. Reach is not the objective when the customer has to be within driving distance.

Before this work a post did a few hundred views. Reels moved that into the thousands —
no boosting, no ad spend behind either of these.
03 Moved the material into reels and video
A photograph shows the result. Video shows the standard. A homeowner learns more from one basement walkthrough than from twenty finished room photographs, and third party confirmation on camera outweighs any claim made in a caption.
A builder on cameraA builder Enteco works with, talking about the work. Filmed and cut by us.Basement project walkthroughA finished basement, walked through end to end. A homeowner learns more in a minute here than from any static post.
“We're seeing noticeably more views, and we even had a potential customer reach out
to us on Instagram, which is very encouraging.”
Paid traffic without creative is a guess. When Enteco wanted to push deck restoration and garage doors, nothing had to be shot. It was already in the library.

Where the scope is production only
Ecoline, windows and doors
Ecoline manufactures and installs windows and doors and has its own marketing team.
They did not need anyone running the account. They needed video worth publishing.
Raw footage is not content. Someone has to decide what each piece is about, where the
hook sits, where it cuts, and what the viewer understands by the end. That is the part
we took.

Two different scopes, and the difference matters. Enteco needed the whole system: profile,
content and publishing. Ecoline needed one component of it. If someone is already running
the account, the content engine can sit behind them and nothing else.
One team handles the shoot, the edit, the captions and the publishing. Nothing here is
a deliverable for its own sake. Each component feeds one of the four items above.
01
Social Media Management
Planning, posting and day-to-day upkeep — Instagram and Facebook first, LinkedIn, TikTok or YouTube where they earn their place.
02
Content Creation
A steady supply of posts built from real projects, not stock images.
03
Reels & Short-Form Video
Job-site footage cut into reels people actually watch to the end.
04
Photography & Video
We come to the site and shoot the work properly — before, during, after.
05
Profile & Channel Repackaging
Profile, bio, pinned content and grid rebuilt so the channel reads professional at a glance. Instagram and Facebook first, LinkedIn, TikTok or YouTube where they earn their place.
06
Stories, Planning & Captions
A monthly plan, designed stories and captions in your voice, approved before anything ships.
07
Visual Brand Styling
Consistent colour, type and layout across posts, stories and print.
Once the brand holds up
When there is something credible for traffic to land on, paid ads, local search and
follow up automation start returning on the spend. Not before. That sequence is not
a preference, and we will say so if you are not at that stage yet.
Every engagement carries the same components. What changes between them is volume, the
number of channels, and how much of the production we carry. Scope is set on the call,
against what the account already has. The case studies below are
Instagram and Facebook, because that is where these
clients' customers are. The same process adapts to LinkedIn,
TikTok and YouTube when yours are elsewhere.
Cost
What this costs
from $1,200per month · social media and content management
from $800per month · content production and shooting
from $800per month per platform · paid social management
Scope sets the number. These are entry points, not estimates, and we would rather you know
the order of magnitude before a call than after one. Where paid social is involved, the ad
budget sits on top and is paid by you in your own account, from $1,500 per month per
platform.

Straight answer
When we would tell you not to do this
If the work is emergency call outs
Burst pipes, dead furnaces, lockouts. That demand is captured in search and local service ads. Nobody browses their way to an emergency, and money spent here instead is money spent in the wrong place.
If you are booked six months out
Additional demand is not worth paying for. Holding price or filling a crew might be, and that is a smaller engagement.
If enquiries sit unanswered
Messages that wait two days do not convert. Generating more of them first is the wrong order of operations.
Scope boundary
Where Google Business Profile fits, and why it is not SMM
Google Business Profile is regularly sold as part of social media management. It is a
different discipline with a different objective, and treating the two as one is a
structural error that shows up later as unclear attribution.
Social media marketing
Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok and adjacent networks
Content production and publishing
Community management
Paid social, in some engagements
Local SEO and Google Business Profile
Visibility in Google Maps and the local pack
Categories, services and profile description
Photos, reviews and Q&A
Local posts and ongoing profile optimisation
Stated plainly: SMM is social content, publishing and engagement.
Local SEO and GBP is profile optimisation, reviews, local rankings and
Maps visibility. One qualification. GBP Posts can sit inside a social engagement as an
additional distribution channel. If we are already producing twelve posts a month for
Instagram and Facebook, adapting them for the profile costs almost nothing and extends
the same material into local search. That is distribution. The optimisation work behind
local rankings is a separate scope, and we quote it as one.
